Day 7: VEGAS! Hello families! Good morning from your sleepys in Arizona; Grace, Lauren, Catherine, Izzy, Conor, Elise, Caleb, Cole, Lucia, Ava, Nikhil, Dennisha, and Caroline. Today was a special day for us all because we got to sleep in until 7am, unless you were a cook. However, we really appreciated the cooks for waking up a bit earlier to make us yummy french toast sticks along with sausage and orange juice--it was quite delicious. After we were all dressed and ready, and the bus and vans were loaded, our counselors and Mr. Grant called us together for a quick meeting. Then, each of the counselors stood forward and presented positives they noticed about us all collectively as a group. Further, things we could work on to better our relationships and overall our trip. Some positive things mentioned were our ability to always be lending a helping hand, naturally respectful, and kind to everyone. Lastly, as we enjoyed our last few minutes at the Grand Canyon, it was time for us to head towards Viva Las Vegas.

We got lucky with some good weather in Vegas. Our group took on The Strip and Caesar's Palace before breaking off to try out restaurants and visit new stores. Some caught the water show outside the Bellagio while others ran miles to catch some retail therapy or find the NBA Finals game. We capped off a fun day in Vegas by attempting to sleep on the bus while traveling through Death Valley to Santa Monica. Our brave bus driver and counselors had to pull an all-nighter to get us there safely. It might have been uncomfortable but the rest was long overdue. We hope to have a fun filled day in Santa Monica tomorrow. Signing off from the Sleepys, hope we can get some sleep on the beach!
